چکیده
Introduction: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), also called median wrist mononeuropathy, is the most frequent nerve compression reaching up to 90%. Objective: To detail current information related carpal and its management, as well analyze conservative surgical treatment of this disease. Methodology: A total 27 articles were analyzed in review, including review original articles, clinical cases, which 18 bibliographies used because other 9 not relevant study. The sources PubMed, Google Scholar Cochrane; terms search for Spanish, Portuguese English were: túnel carpiano, síndrome do carpo e AINEs, syndrome, patients with corticoids tunnel. Results: Wrist flexion extension increase pressure canal, leading following symptoms: pain, numbness paresthesia. Corticosteroid injections are recommended mild moderate syndrome. Endoscopic release has less postoperative earlier recovery grip pinch strength, compared open release. Postoperative complications infrequent minimal transient. Conclusions: oppression at level joint, may be accompanied limitation epineural axoplasmic blood flow, dysfunction, edema, scarring. diagnosis been made through a mixture history physical examination maneuvers, however, use ultrasound electrodiagnostic tests now being supported. There treatments, among evidence shows that steroid injection effective present good results. KEY WORDS: Syndrome, tunnel, carpal, mononeuropathy

Carpal tunnel syndrome, the most common peripheral neuropathy, results from compression of the median nerve at the wrist, and is a cause of pain, numbness and tingling in the upper extremities and an increasingly recognized cause of work disability. If carpal tunnel syndrome seems likely, conservative management with splinting should be initiated. Moreover, it has suggested that patients reduce...
متن کاملManagement of carpal tunnel syndrome.
Carpal tunnel syndrome affects approximately 3 percent of adults in the United States. Pain and paresthesias in the distribution of the median nerve are the classic symptoms. While Tinel's sign and a positive Phalen's maneuver are classic clinical signs of the syndrome, hypalgesia and weak thumb abduction are more predictive of abnormal nerve conduction studies. Conservative treatment options i...

Carpal tunnel syndrome comprises potentially disabling sensory and/or motor symptoms in the hand. Around 1 in 10 people develop carpal tunnel syndrome at some point, and it is particularly common in women (Hughes 2007), with one study in the UK indicating an incidence of 139.4 cases per 100,000 women per year and 67.2 cases per 100,000 men (Bland 2003).
